They somehow made Mina's first mission flashback hurts even more than it already does TT-TT

BUT that makes her even stronger. I expect kn8 to let Kafka and Mina talks to each other at some point but feared it might turn out to be Mina going full emotinal outburst or even worst guilting Kafka. Turned out it played out in a very mature way.

Kafka's goal is...very fitting of him...("No death is unrealistic" spooked me a bit though. Young Kafka you're too much into gaming) that master swordman though. DONT LET HOSHINA HEAR THAT.

Do I get sad for lack of battle progress? A little bit. Also why are they talking instead of keep attacking? of course (technically that can easily be brushed off as Kafka too need to get a little bit of break after all damage he received) but emotional reward is too big for me to even mind! you can even say they spent the moment in very efficient way because it strengthen a trust between them

Just few honest words and a wall between them disappears. Because they're always longing to stand by each other's side fighting against the worst enemy of mankind.

The current mood can be taken as "Is the series getting axed soon?" or "Kafka and Mina's dream is just the first big arc. There's more to explore!" I hope for the later because so many plot threads left untouched. I have yet to see the division that handle my 2nd hometown! You can't end here! Me, after doing 15 minutes of excessive googling on every Batfam member's birthday only to then realize I've accidentally missed the majority of them this year, and then also finding out that people are still aggressively debating over whether Bruce's birthday is April 7 or February 19, Dick's birthday happens 3-6x throughout the year, and Stephanie might have just popped into existence for all that DC cares:

DISCLAIMER: DC is notorious for being super inconsistent with everything and I am a mere tadpole caught in the tidal wave of DC's ocean. This post will be regularly updated with edits and corrections so please do not use it as word of law, I am begging you.

Update (8/24/23): To keep things more simple and easier for everyone I am going to start categorizing the birth dates I've collected into 3 categories.

-Most popular: Self-explanatory. These are the birth dates that have been canonized and confirmed by DC and are also more wildly celebrated by the fandom. Typically, this should be the first result you see when you google the character's birthday. But not always because DC sucks ass.

-Other date(s): These are the additional birth dates I come across that have been canonized in some form with multiple sources, but are not as wildly celebrated or popularized by DC and/or the fandom. Why am I including them here? Mostly because I don't want people coming in saying I forgot a date. But also because if I have to see this mess, then y'all have too as well.

-Potential but unconfirmed date(s): This is where I will put all the other additional dates I find, but specifically those that are lacking in complete sources or seem to be highly debated and scrutinized.

Also fun emoji ranking guide for me and me alone:

👑👑: Queen Shit. Characters with a consistent and simple birth date(s). Can absolutely do no wrong.

👑😮‍💨: In the Running. Characters who don't have a set birth date, but the mess is minor and completely DC's fault. They shouldn't have to be punished for DC's crimes.

(I think it'd be hella cute if Jason and Alfred shared a bday. But if you keep scrolling through the rest of the list, you'll see that August is kind of an overcrowded bday month for the Batfam.

Depending on what you prefer, though, I still think Alfred's worth being celebrated. Lord knows he deserves a special day for himself)

(Update ((8/24/23)): No big inconsistencies between these dates. I just thought it would be fun to provide some info on why Alfred has two canonical birthdates.

So the reason August 16 is viewed as the most popular is for two main reasons. One, obviously, is that he shares a birth date with Jason Todd. So many fans latch onto this date because of how sweet it is for them to share a birthday together.

The second reason has to do with the origin of the birth date. This is because of the more recent retcon that was made by the prequel comic to the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game that was published in 2013. There is a panel in the comic that shows Alfred's birth certificate in full detail from his full name, his place of birth, etc.

As for April 8, this specific date technically has more history compared to August 16. Fans will cite that April 8 was the official date selected by DC according to their Super DC Calendar back in 1976 (which btw was made in 1975).

Compared to August 16 and April 8, however, March 31 oddly enough isn't that popular or recognized by DC or the majority of the fandom. The reason March 31 does come up is because March 31, 1943 was the date when Alfred made his first appearance in the comics, one day after Bruce/Batman)

Other date(s): April 25, May 27, March 30, "October," October 7, and "November"

(It looks like most people go with February 19, but don't come at me if you're a April 7 truther. I'm just existing)

(Update ((8/20/23)): I'm gonna shoot somebody. So after doing a little bit more research, I came across-you'd never guess it-even more conflicting info on when Bruce's birthday is supposed to take place.

While April 7 and February 19 are still popular days for fans to celebrate Batman's bday, March 30 is also considered a popular date due to March 30, 1939 being the day Detective Comics #27 ((the issue Batman debuted in)) was put on shelves.

HOWEVER, even Batman's debut is contested to actually be May 27, 1939 because despite the fact that Detective Comics #27 first appeared to the public on March 30, 1939, the cover issue depicted May 27, 1939 instead.

This is because it was a popular practice for comics publication houses to falsify their cover dates as a way to give the impression that the latest issue was newer than it actually was. So if you really, really wanna get super fucking technical about it ((and I know there are some of you out there who do)), Batman may have debuted on March 30, but the cover-issue date was May 27 so, yes, I guess Bruce could have been a May baby instead.

I hate it here.

Oh, and to make matters more complicated, let's discuss the issue of April 7 vs April 25. So the reason April 7 is a popular bday for Bruce is because the original 1930-40s run just outright stated that April 7 was his birthday. Simple enough.

So what does April 25 have to do with this? Well, that's because technically-I think I hate that word now btw-Batman didn't get his own solo comic until April 25, 1940. If you want to go by April 25 because of this logic, however, that means that you'd have to share Bruce's birthday with the Joker. Because guess what? That's also the exact date that the Joker debuted.

I'm personally not a huge fan of Bruce and the Joker sharing a bday. Mostly just because the dates are clearly already complicated enough. But also I feel like April 25 is just known as the Joker's bday at this point, at least in the DC fandom. And Bruce has so many options at this point that it'd be kinda silly to make them share a bday.

As for the "sometime in October" and "sometime in November" additions, we have Batman The Animated Series and Frank Miller's "Batman: Year One" to thank for those extremely vague options.

BTAS Bruce states that his birthday is "sometime in October" and "Batman: Year One" Bruce is responsible for "sometime in November." I repeat: I hate it here.

So when is Bruce's actual birthday? Well, the latest change that DC has "officially" made was the February 19 retcon during the 1970-80s. When a fan sent a question into Detective Comics about Bruce's birthday, the answer given was "February 19" in the letter column. Issue #494, to be exact.

And the reason this answer was given? Because the Super DC Calender for 1976 (again made in 1975) said so.

However, there are still people who prefer to celebrate his bday on April 7 or March 30 instead. And there's also a question floating around if the New 52 run could potentially retcon Bruce's bday AGAIN at some point in the future.

I. Hate. It. Here.

Personally, I liked February 19 because then Alfred could maybe have the month of April to himself. But after seeing all this new info, I'm just sort of resigned to whichever date that the fandom prefers. Y'all can decide. I don't have any energy left.

Also, I can't believe I have to accuse Bruce of having possibly taught Dick his bday scam. Just .... wow).

(Update ((8/24/23)): Well, DC did it to me again. I found this extra little tidbit while googling the Super DC Calendar for Alfred, actually.

So Issue #10 of the 2021 Legends of the Dark Knight decided to give the BTAS's "sometime in October" an actual sometime.

How do I feel about yet another Bruce Wayne bday retcon? Honestly, I think I'm moving closer and closer to just a bland state of acceptance at this point. Tbh, I don't think all these retcons actually matter that much in the end. DC is gonna keep being DC.

Which is annoying. But Idk I'm personally gonna stick with February 19. No shade to you if you prefer any of the other dates. I just like February 19 more than the others)

Well the official DC canon birth date for Kate Kane is listed as March 21. That being said, if you were to google Kate's birthday right now, you might be confused because that's not the first result that comes up.

Instead, you'll be greeted with January 26, 1990.

So what gives? If there's already an official DC approved birth date, then why the fuck is January 26 coming up all of a sudden?

Well, folks, you have the CW's Batwoman to thank.

Tbh I was very confused as to how I completely missed that there was an entire Batwoman TV show in the first place.

Apparently the show is considered a part of the CW Arrowverse (in reference to the CW show Arrow featuring Oliver Queen, for those of you who need extra info) and ran for 3 whole seasons before being cancelled on April 9, 2022.

And they gave us actual canon lesbian Kate Kane rep. I mean, she is a lesbian. But yeah. CW actually acknowledged her sexual orientation. So kudos for doing the bare minimum?????

Anyway, I guess the showrunners just decided they wanted Kate's birthday to be on January 26 instead of March 21??? Idk if this was supposed to be a reference or an homage to Cassandra Cain's birthday. I doubt it, but who knows?)

I'm unclear atm about whether this is a fanon take or if it was actually stated in a particular comic at some point.

As far as I'm concerned, Dick just keeps lying about his birthday for the lols)

It's a return visit from our favorite friend, the Super DC Calendar of 1976. And according to it, Dick's birthday should be November 11.

You can also thank the Young Justice comic for the confusion surrounding Dick's bday being on December 1.

Also, I found this post by @theflyingwonder that helps clear up a LOT of the mess surrounding Dick's ever changing birth date. Honestly, amazing work and extra kudos to them for putting all the work in and finding all the sources. I just wished I had found their post earlier, holy shit.

(Update ((8/25/23)): Many thanks to @poisoned-ivy for clearing up even more of the mess surrounding Dick's bday. I went ahead and took a screenshot of their response to my old "Which date is Dick's canon bday?" poll.

They also provided a link to the DC Universe Calendar which was lovingly compiled from the original 1976 Super DC Calendar and then put together by the people who run the Five Earths Project .

Also found out from them today that October 24 is one of Dick's bdays ((at least for Post-Crisis Dick Grayson)). So that was a fun new discovery!

They were also very helpful in helping me realize that the original article I had found that stated "sometime in April" was actually in reference to Dick Grayson's first appearance in the comics, which was April 1940.

So, yes, "sometime in April" is technically--again I hate this word so much now--still a valid candidate for Dick's bday. And before you ask: Detective Comics #38 was actually published on March 6, 1940.

Hence why people will cite March 6 as Dick's canon bday instead.

Prom Night: Special Edition for Thoughtbubble

I'm SO happy with the revamped cover for the new print version of PN! For those of you who don't know, this was my first printed comic ever, a tropey horror short featuring teenage Caro as Carrie Greensburo, Henderson High's Prom Queen, and John as Hurricane Sully O'Sullivan, all around delinquent and trouble maker. I wrote and drew the original in about two weeks which is insane, and it holds a very special place in my heart, and also features Caro's Coming Out moment, because of course the best time to come out to your neighbor is when you're being chased by monsters in a corny B-flick.

I wanted to give this story the care it deserves that I didnt have the time to do back when i made it, so I've been fixing up some panels and adding some small context pages to flesh the story out juuuuust a little bit, so of course, it needed a new special edition cover, and here we are! I love the original cover, but its really cool to see where my style has taken me since then, and I'm excited I could make it look more like the cheesy horror movie poster it was meant to be. I cant wait to get these printed!

JACK FINALLY REUNITING WITH LEELATHAE!! Relationship goal fr <3 This whole Leelathae portrait stuff is actually making me curious about some things. For instance like, does Leelathe still sleep? I mean, she's pretty much a spirit now, right? Does she still do daily human acitivities, or does she roam around the castle all day?

It's awesome to see what the pastel siblings are doing now! :D

First of all, Lorena definitely deserve that A+++++. No questions asked. Hopefully this can make up for her whole grade, considering she said she has never gotten an A in her entire life XD

I love how Maria is becoming really ambitious towards her dream!

Leland not getting any visitors in the prison is honestly a really good punishment; a painful one too. How we see in the last chapters about how he realized that Jack actually love him and he has a breakdown, Isolde's speech to him about what else could he possible want, realizing that this whole time he has had everything. And now he's rotting in jail losing everything he once had. All because of envy and hatred. Just because he wasn't satisfied until he could see the man he once love the most suffer. Emotionally, that's really fucking painful.

okay, so,,, i got back to reading 4kota, and i have so many thoughts of literally every nature

SPOILERS AHEAD FOR 4KOTA, NATURALLY!

okay so, allow me to rant a lil

bro why the actual fuck is Arthur just magical hitler now?? 😭 like hello???? it genuinely makes me really sad because he was such a sweet and likable character for most of 7ds and now he wants to create an ethnostate for humans only???? it just breaks my heart, man

SAME WITH JERICHO LIKE HELLO? QUEEN, YOURE BETTER THAN THIS. genuinely tho- nakaba try not to make all your characters pedos challenge (impossible). there are literally so many other ways in which Jericho could have ended up in a similar situation, but nakaba really just chose pedophilia? it couldve been something along the same lines just without the romantic attraction!! a family bond can be just as strong- and it couldve been something like her losing Lancelot or in some other way letting him down, and then thinking that he despises her and holds onto that grudge (which, judging his character it wouldve probably been a small spat that he got over) - but maybe Jericho didnt understand that, or wasnt ready to face him, expecting him to be livid - so she asked for an alternative reality where that didnt happen and they got along great as sister/brother or master/trainee. i wouldnt put Jericho past being so stubborn that she wouldnt believe when Lance would say that he forgave her, and then boom!! same set-up, just without the nasty pedophilia!!

ON THE NOTE OF WHICH- (theres so much of that garbage in nakaba's writing, fucks sake) - i genuinely hate the whole thing happening with Guinevere. the whole non-consensual kiss from a 12 year old to a 16 year old (ewwwww) is one thing, but then when Lance is reflecting on that interaction and he SMILES????

you have no idea how much this panel killed me to see. Lancelot youre better than this,,,, 4 years is not a big age difference when youre in your 30's, but when youre 16???? please,,,, cmon now,,,

speaking of whommmmm~~ ,,, I ADORE LANCELOT!! SO MUCH!! this is to be expected considering i love Ban, bUT- hes genuinely just such a cool and wonderful character that has some sense in him. i especially loved those panels where he was like jumping around to get himself hyped up cuz like!! Ban does that!!!! i love,,,,

after watching that video, i had the idea of Ren Hua sending her rivals, Brittany and Aleksandra, to get the good vibes treatment because of all the bad things they’ve done to others. even though i could only fit Ren Hua, Yoko, and Patrick in the bottom panel, i imagine that more people would be there, like Samantha, Julia, Ruzena, Yu Zi, Meng Yao, etc. also, i know that Kai’s holding the guitar in the video, but i decided to draw it on his back here cuz why not

Yes I KNOW it has been two and a half years shhhhh but today I FINALLY watched For The Future and . AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! So many of my predictions were correct. So many fantastic moments and rich lore drops and haunting visuals and sick music and rushed but still satisfying character development.

I was right about Flapjack Magic!!! Ignited by the power of friendship I'm so happy for my boyyyyyyyy but still so so so so so sad.

I clocked Kikimora IMMEDIATELY and was DESPERATELY hoping Hunter would turn around like "Hey, I recognize that ANNOYING VOICE." that would have been such a SATISFYING callback, they had the perfect opportunity to do that. But alas, had to extend the ruse for a bit.

Okay SO:

There is so much foreshadowing in the beginning of the movie, which technically also happens at the beginning of the book, with Nimona's little red drawings too, but somehow for me it was different to see it animated

Goleth in the book Is Not A Thing. Doesn't exist. There IS no "1,000 years ago the kingdom was cursed" stuff. They said Goleth and I mentally went "who the FUCK is Goleth??"

In the book/webcomic/graphic novel, Ambrosius is the one who cuts off Ballister's arm, on purpose. Yes, Ambrosius, the twink gay boyfriend guy. (Also, in the book they both have long hair)

It's not super important, but in the book there's a bank heist that they do complete together and it kind of sets the stage for everyone to realize Nimona is a shapeshifter and is with Blackheart

In the book, part of the 'framing the director' thing is that she & the government agency (or whatever it is) have this massive supply of jaderoot, which is like, this poisonous plant (more on that later)

I didn't fully understand that 'the Director' was like, basically the queen until I was literally watching the movie. I guess I understood her to be like, almost a head-security person? You really only see her in the book being like "guards! Capture Ballister!" or "the plan didn't work 😡"

OH. Very important. At the end of the book— in the part of the movie where they put all those spidey webs on Nimona and capture her— in the book, they bring her to.... basically an experiment lab, they put her in a tank with a lot of jaderoot and shock her and do all this torture stuff and they're basically like "Tell us how you got like this", and she talks about how she was cursed by a witch who gave her shapeshifting powers BUT they were very loose (in that she can transform into literally any animal/creature/etc) ("She wasn't a very good witch," she says)

On that note! If I remember right, basically her parents abandoned her after she became a shapeshifter (or maybe before?) and in the book, she did pillage and burn down villages in the meantime— which she references at the beginning of the movie, but it's never fully explained or expanded upon

There's this really good dialogue between Ballister and Nimona at the end of the book, which I don't think was in the movie-- where, Nimona is being tortured and they're using all the stuff to try to punish her for being 'a monster', and she says to Ballister, "You're not the only one who thought you could change me. Who thought you'd fix me until you saw who I really was" (or something like that, I'm blanking on the exact words right now), and it's at that point in the book where she turns into a little girl, and then turns really big and into that dark shadowy thing

Also, when she's a little girl, in between being different monsters (so to speak), in the book she looks at Ballister and says "You came back for me?" And he says "Of course I did"

There are references to Nimona "doing this before" in terms of being the 'monster', but there isn't the whole Goleth/chosen one backstory like there is in the movie

Nimona's voice doesn't sound like that To Me. In my head I always thought she'd be like, grittier and spunkier? She was almost like, trying too hard to be carefree and cool in the movie, IMO. Also, in the book, it is a thing where Ballister asks questions about her life and she gets Very Distracted by like, random weapons or different poisons or whatever

ALSO. This has been killing me because I don't fully remember, but. I think in the book, Nimona does almost certainly die or disappear... but there's also this really bittersweet panel with different red animals where Ballister is basically like 'Sometimes I hope you're out there and that I'll see you again someday'. And in the movie she DIED-died and I don't think she deserved that, honestly

To be completely honest... I really like TeruAoiKane and (Ama)HanaNeneTsuka. without the incest ofc...

I know not many people ship TeruAoi, AoiKane nor TsuNene (some may even call AoiKane and TsuNene toxic), but, honestly, if u put your mind into it, you (maybe) can see how much it makes sense.

Okokok... I'll just explain my own view on TeruAoiKane (all three of them together) and (Ama)HanaNeneTsuka (without the incest, of course.) ships. Feel free to add your own thoughts into it and/or correct me about it, though!

Though, since this post is kind of long... I'll be splitting this post into 2!

First i'll be talking about TeruAoiKane, theeen in the next part, I'll be talking about (Ama)HanaNeneTsuka!

Alr, without further ado... Let's start with TeruAoi.

Honestly, I never really thought about actually shipping them until I read this analysis about their relationship. (it was actually another analysis, but I can't find it; Besides, the analysis this person made is really good and well-taken!)

If u think about it, Teru and Aoi are pretty similar;

Both hide their true nature under perfect facades.

Both are the 'Queen' and the 'King' of the school.

Both have a very distinct line of thought about the world around them; Aoi oftens looks down on others, while Teru looks down on supernaturals. Aoi is afraid of being hated by the people she loves the most, while Teru is afraid of his siblings not needing him anymore.

It may not be alot, but it's definitely something; They both parallel each other so much. They both understand each other. I wouldn't be surprised if the 'Teru likes Aoi' theory would turn out to be canon, because Teru liking Aoi makes so much more sense instead of him liking Akane.

There are also alot of hints in the manga where its implied that Teru may like Aoi; (All taken from the very same analysis! If u want a more detailed explanation, you can read their analysis about it.)

Chapter 73; He says he likes Akane-san(He calls Aoi Akane-san, while he calls Akane Aoi). Turns around he was just kidding; But the way he acted about it didn't really seem like he was just 'kidding'. The fact that he says that in a bigger panel may really implies that it meant more than it should have.

Later on in the chapter, he looks annoyed when he asks Akane if he did something rather indecent to Aoi. Not even mocking or teasing, just accusing him of it as he says it with an irritated face. And the fact that the text was written in a black word cloud...

He looks pretty genuine in a panel; A panel where he seems genuinely melancholic when he says; "I.. only want Akane-san to come back."

Whenever is asked/implied if Teru have genuine feelings for Aoi, it's always shown to us a big panel about Teru's response. It's almost like his answer about this kind of question is important.

I don't think there are any hints about Aoi liking Teru, but there are definitely alot of hints about Teru liking Aoi. That isn't exactly what made me ship them, but more like their similarities and how they parallel each other.

I don't know how to explain it, they just make sense. They make it make sense. I feel like their ship makes alot more sense than AoiKane and TeruKane.

Their personalities are so similar, the way they think is pretty similar-They just fits each other personalities so much.

Besides, they make me think about that one trope where the popular kids get together in the end. It's clichè, but it's a nice trope when done well.

Now let's go to AoiKane...

I'll be honest; At first, I thought those 2 would never work out, and didn't deserve each other.

Akane was pretty obsessive towards Aoi, so much to the point that he would hurt himself just for her.

Aoi always hid behind the appearance of a perfect girl, so much so that it made her think that Akane never really loved her; Instead, he loved the school princess Ao-chan, not Akane Aoi. - Besides, she backstabbed him. (literally lol)

So yeah, basically; They weren't healthy for each other.

But... As the chapters went on, and how their relationship started to improve ever since the Sacrifice Of The Grim Reaper arc... I feel like they slowly started to patch up the holes in their relationship, and started to trust each other more.

Akane even stopped being that obsessive towards Aoi, and Aoi started to be more open to Akane.

Basically; Their relationship got a big massive improvement, and that's good.

Both of them genuinely loves each other for who the other are; They don't need such facades to love each other, they just do.

"One(s) who truly hates himself(themselves), cannot love. He(they) cannot place his(their) trust in another."

That phrase fits Aoi so much-

She always hated herself, always putting herself under a facade so everyone could love her and never know about her true flaws. She was very careful so that no one could ever know about her true self.

But once she realized that Akane did love her for she really was, she instantly started crying.

It seemed like she finally started to feel loved.

I feel like Akane could help Aoi to love herself more, while Aoi would help Akane to have his own personality more if they were to be in a romantic relationship.

They both got their flaws, but they genuinely love each other and it seems they are slowly starting to improve more their relationship at the same time they are starting to focus on themselves more. Akane is starting to gain more his own personality, while Aoi is (really) slowly starting to love herself.

I still don't really feel like actually shipping them, but I would be lying if their relationship and character's development didn't make me ship them atleast a lil' bit.

Besides, I really like the childhood friends romance trope.

Now let's move on to TeruKane!

To be honest.. I only shipped them for a while before I decided they were better off as best friends. (And that their ship was kind of toxic)

But now, mainly due to the fandom, I started shipping them again, this time for real.

Teru and Akane don't really seem to give any indication that they like each other romantically in the manga, but their dynamic and friendship is very interesting and fun to see.

And, I don't know, but it really seems like Teru cares for Akane;

Teru has cast a spell on Akane's glasses that makes it so he cannot see supernaturals while wearing them and can continue to live a normal life. This has become more evident in the Sacrifice of the Grim Reaper arc, where Teru saves Akane without telling him that Aoi would not be able to leave the Far Shore, most likely because he knew Akane would refuse to leave without her.

Akane does not hold back when insulting Teru, but does have respect for him. He recognizes the hard work Teru does and believes that even though he has a distasteful personality on the surface, deep down he is a caring person who wants to save others.

I have to agree that their relationship can be kind of toxic, and they wouldn't really work out; But the way they both have mutual respect and care for each other it really what drives me into liking this ship.

Besides, I once saw someone call them; "2 cm away from kissing each other trope", and I agree with them.

Besides, I think Teru would help Akane to gain more personality of his own, while Akane would view Teru for who he is. (I mean, they technically already do that in canon lol)

I feel like they both feel like they don't need to hide under a facade for each other, instead they are just Akane and Teru. Not Vice-president Aoi-kun nor Exorcist Minamoto-senpai; Just Akane and Teru.

Overall; Their relationship is a bit toxic so it will need some development, but their interactions together are pretty nice to see. They can definitely work out once their relationship gets more development. They are more like best friends than to lovers to me, but their ship is still pretty nice.

All three of them together.

It's basically TeruKane, TeruAoi and AoiKane dynamics, but with possibly more development and together.

All three of them would love each other for who the other are; I feel like they would make each other so happy.

Aoi and Teru would help Akane gain a personality of his own; Akane and Teru would help Aoi to love herself more; And Akane and Aoi would let Teru to act like himself more.

Mutual respect and care. Helping each other out with their self-worthy and self-love. Awful personality trio. Parallels each other. Popular trio. They are perfect.

There is probably more to add to it than it actually seems, but it's already 1 am in my country and I really want to move on to (Ama)HanaNeneTsuka already xd

Final opinion; I genuinely really like this trio. I feel like, once they all finally get the character development they deserve, they all could make it work if they were ever to be in a romantic relationship with each other. I love both of their trio name too; Awful Personality and Sunflower trio! To whoever came up with those names for them, you are a absolutely genius. That fits them so much-

182 Days of TPN - Day 100

Chapter 100: “Arrival”

One of the few things season two did right was keeping Simon alive. They made his eyes so pretty with that shade of green and he’s just one of those characters that you instantly fall in love with how sweet of an older brother he is to Phil.

Eugene I remember, Charlie’s name doesn’t ring a bell but I’ve definitely seen that face of his before, but I have no memory of a child called Milosz at all??

Sigh.. soon my queen will return, if only for a short while. unfortunately.

I think one of the things I hate most about this chapter is how quick it got us to like Simon, even going as far to compare him to Don, then BAM! Literally being shipped off next panel! 

The chapter continues to pull at my heartstrings once it makes the parallel of Phil being in a similar situation as Ray when he knew the house’s secret, only difference being that Phil is a couple years younger than Ray when he first found out about the farm, which that makes the pain hurt even more!

Quick, no one tell Phil that Emma passed out in the forest due to her injured ear and a fever or that she was brutally stabbed by an insane demon. The little guy would surely have a heart attack if he knew.

There’s no way in hell a four year old child should be subjected to such depressing thoughts and emotions! At least it all makes the ch175/176 reunion with Emma worth it but aaahh, Phil is too precious to deserve any of this pain in the first place!

“They ask you how you are, and you just have to say that you're fine, when you're not really fine.” (Damn Isabella, she raised a handful of wonderful actors.)

And the absolute worst part of this chapter is when this finger-tapping bastard comes along, spreading fear into our hearts and Phil’s. What really sucks is that we still dunno exactly what Andrew asked of him and what Phil ended up telling him. All we find out in ch111 is that the conversation mentioned Emma but not much else.

Thankfully the chapter lightens up a bit when we turn our attention back to the Cuvitidala search group. Once again loving the detail of Emma adjusting her hearing to aid her missing ear like she did in ch43 & 67.

I love Zack and how he’s so easily impressed and/or scared by how these children are able to function so efficiently. Of course I’m very proud Don & Gilda managed to follow Ray’s crazy request as well.

And if we’re gonna talk about stuff that’s praise-worthy, then I gotta mention how Emma killed three wild demons at once! I haven’t a clue on how she managed to fire off three arrows simultaneously and have each head in a separate direction to hit the necessary weak spots so perfectly, but who cares! Lovely archery skills regardless!

I really wish we were able to see more of the journey to Cuvitidala though. Apparently it takes them 52 days to get there yet we only get a couple panels. It might not have been as exciting as them finally arriving at the destination itself, but after all the intense action we saw in GP, I’d be down for some chill adventuring. Hell, I just wish to see Violet and Zack interact with our GF kids more and continue to be astonished by how smart they all are. Also wanna see how Zack handled being surrounded by these kids for months since he’s quite literally the only adult on this trip.

Favorite panel/moment:

Violet and Zack being terrified of the GF kid’s capabilities yet again. And Ray looks far too pretty in that second panel. It’s not fair. Could you imagine if he had bright colored eyes in the anime? Oh my.. I’d die. and yes I’d hope for a real light purple, of course.

life is lived in the grey, people deserve second chances, and people deserve to be asked, people deserve curiosity and not just being written off for their first impression or something you've heard about them. and for me that's been one of my favourite things, is seeing the ways that charlie messes up sometimes, i really enjoy those scenes, because she's learning, she doesn't know and she makes mistakes and i think one of a big reason the show has been a hit and that people respond to it, that hotel, that group of people, that family that's in that hotel, they choose to give one another second chances. even her, the person who's trying to lead the charge.

Knuckles: He be punching. But, he has grown to accept more company. I *really* REALLY like that. He's gonna try to no longer be a loner. That makes me so happy, take that vacation Knux you deserve it boy!!

VAmy: Grown to levels at the age of twelve I never thought I would see possible.

CAmy: Shows me every time she's in a panel why she's still and forever will be my favorite sonic character.

VEggman: His same goofy ahh self. That old geezer is now hell-bent on just ending Sonic at this point.

CEggman: Still has plans and ambitions and still executes the most perfect plan awfully. Why is there a button to fuck you over, sir!

CShadow: I would say the same thing as the video game iteration, but at the time I am making this post the Eggperial city arc of IDW comic has ended and Shadow played a big part in it. And he slayed. An absolute KING 👑 I'm just happy we got to see him a little bit fixed from what we got from the previous arcs. So, ultimate.

VRouge: Haven't seen her in a while can only go off based on what we recently got and fine I guess.

CRouge: A BOSS ASS BITCH! QUEEN! I LOVE YOU 💜💖💞💕💓 She one ups everyone with every line of sassy dialogue and I don't ever want it to end.

VE-123 Omega: Haven't seen him a while, can only go off base of what we've gotten so far, and I still miss Gamma. (Jk jk Omega's still cool)

COmega: A little menace of a preteen in a tank like robot body focused on nothing but being petty towards Eggman! Read the IDW Omega and you'll see the angsty preteen I promise! I love this Omega!

VSilver: He's such a punk.... Where's all the smack you were talking and power you were showing in 06 bro, where'd that go!

CSilver: He's such a punk.... But he talks that smack and shows that power he's been given since 06! Love him 🤍, this is why he'll always be number 2

VBlaze: All we got recently was her in that annoying racing game (it's fun cuz it's a little buggy I'm just trash at it) and the April fools game and in those I'm happy to see her having fun. In any cannon game she's ever been in she's got a stick up her butt. I'm happy to see her smiling more.

CBlaze: A breath of fresh air is what she needs and what she deserves and I'm happy that the comic is delivering. It's clear that her breath of fresh air is her going on adventure with sonic and co. So let her go on a little more adventures though, I wouldn't mind seeing her go on another girl focused adventure with Amy, rouge, cream, bell, tangle, whisper, and Lanolin. That sounds really fun! She'd probably have a blast.

VCream: I don't think I'm wrong about this but the last time we saw her was in GENERATIONS! . . . Need I say anything else?

CCream: IDW has made me find a new appreciation for the characters I never thought about as much since Sonic X. Cream being one of those characters. She's so headstrong, and believes in what she does and, is such a purely good force that everyone that has recently crossed paths with her either understands, or knows, that she will be a force to be reckoned with in the future. That girl is going places, and gonna change the world. We may never see it but the facts are there.

Gemerl: A gem. And I'm happy I got my Omega vs Gemerl fight in an annual issue. THAT made me love their character. So serious about everything unless their allowed to chill out which is everyday considering they live with the Rabbit family.

Vanilla: I don't think I can say anything about Vanilla other than that she's just a good mom.

CVector: Yoooo! This guy don't play about his buddies. The metal virus arc... I was ready to cry. I didn't think he would do that let alone be as serious as he was in that arc considering the Chaotix are meant to jokes. Especially Vector with his greed. The comic shows that he's a good leader, and since he's been doing it for years I want to see another mini adventure involving the Chaotix and Knuckles.

VEspio: I don't think we've seen him since Generations either so,.... Still as quiet and ninja like as ever

CEspio: NINJA POWER!! He was, is, and forever will be one of the coolest characters in the sonic franchise to me. As he is; I believe, to be the only one with a definite fighting style and set of skill along with a vibe of mystery that I wish would be uncovered sooooo bad. If you seen that annual where Silver and him had that deep talk, I almost could hold back tears. Again this comic has made me have a serious appreciation for the characters I never thought about so hard since Sonic X. He's perfect, never change Espio.

VCharmy: Again since Generations, all we've seen is a kid.

So, you guys, I really love world-building, so lemme tell ya: I’m really digging the turn the current OP cover arc’s going down, to the point it’s got me about in equal time with the rest of the story, except the rest of the story has more revealed and now I’m just sitting here week to week with a single panel of information at a time and sorry but ch.1070 spoilers under the cut.

Getting to Work (Super Sim Update)

I've had limited time to play The Sims over the last two weekends (I don't have any time on weekdays), so there's quite a bit to recap.

I put Stella in the Doctor career, starting at level 8 thanks to her Distinguished Biology degree. She's already ready to get promoted... as soon as she delivers someone's baby. (A pregnant Sim came into the hospital for regular illness; I tried cheating her to pregnancy phase to "in labor," but that didn't do anything except make her extremely uncomfortable. (Don't worry, I cheated it back to third trimester where it was.) I had to try!)

I went into Cousin India's household to get the twins back and to see who her baby daddy is -- turns out it's Aurelio Robles, which is interesting considering he's assumed to be ace, right? I figured, OK, they had a science baby as besties... but when I looked at India's relationship panel, they have a full romance bar too. *shrug* At any rate, I got them engaged and Aurelio moved in with India and the baby (whose name I'm blanking on at the moment Sandy. Her name is Sandy Shelton. Aurelio also had his own kid, no co-parent in family tree, so he's living with them, too. No, I don't know his name, nor do I really care.) So now they're their own happy little family.

Like I said, I brought the twins back to my household. Mostly so I could guarantee that Cade would win Prom Royalty, which he did... twice. (I was trying to get his girlfriend, Luna, crowned the second time, and Jester for him. Sigh.)

And yes, both times that Cade was Royalty, Orange Bailey-Moon was Prom Jester. Rigged!

Speaking of Orange, he's now dating Kinsley. "My best friend and my sister? My best friend and my sister!"

Tate also has a girlfriend - Noemi Caliente. Take a wild guess who her parents are:

(She straight up has Don Lothario's face and Nina's haircolor. Don's dead in this save already, btw - Neighborhood Stories took him out, but I don't remember how by killer chicken, which he almost definitely deserved. His ghost still calls Stella sometimes.)

Cade, of course, is still with Luna Villareal. She should be aging up in a couple days, and Orange should definitely be aging up the next time I play. Honestly, I was surprised they were both still teens for the last prom; I thought they would both be Young Adults by then, which would have created all kinds of weirdness for their relationships.

I'm hoping Cade will age up the next time I play, so I can get him moved out, married, and making the babies necessary to finish Stella's family Aspirations. I'm a little bit over teen gameplay now... just want to get everyone aged up and moved out as quickly as possible!

Speaking of Stella's aspirations, I did choose one of the Wellness aspirations to start working on... but I'm not really making any real effort right now. Like I said in my last post, those Aspirations are pretty much the whole gameplay of Spa Day, and it doesn't feel right to work on them when I haven't "progressed" that far yet.

Triboulet -- Chapter 1

Haven't wrote romance in forever and decided to get back into it, and then realized what I wanted to write was going to be way bigger than 5k words. So I'm splitting it into chapters--I may come back and flesh it out into a proper long-form story later. For now its just me having fun writing emotions and not monster ladies.

The rope around my neck is as familiar an embrace as my own mother’s was, once. It sat snug against my skin, warm and irritating as it rubbed and tightened—it lay in contrast against the morning chill and dew upon my skin. I had known as surely as the dawn rose that I would be caught and hung for my role in rebellion, and yet I never knew the calm that would fill my chest as I stared across the onlookers down below. Every breath of air I took could very well be my last, and yet I felt no desperation to hold any more within me. 

The man standing next to the executioner had a scroll long enough to rest at his feet, full line-by-line with a list of my crimes. At the top of the list had been High Treason, Conspiracy and Attempted Regicide. I was rather bitter about the word ‘attempted’, of course—I had damn near killed the king, he would die in less than a fortnight from what the guards had told me. I felt like I deserved credit where it was due, despite my failure to kill the Queen and Princess with him. 

Upon each crime announced and levied upon my head, the crowd of onlookers jeered and hollered. I could see doubt and anger on the faces of the peasants at my feet. I could see the hatred and contempt on the nobles seated above the crowd. I could even see the sorrow and mourning of my fellow rebels, my compatriots, hiding in the alleys in the back of the crowds. And most satisfying of all, I could see nothing on the face of the still-living Queen who sat on the balcony far above us all, for she stared down with a black veil of mourning over her face. 

The man next to the executioner finished his list of crimes with a final shrill cry, before the executioner at my back pushed me forward onto the panel that would drop below my feet. The rope was feeling warmer now, tighter now, as the man turned to face me. 

“And to you, Cyrille Abel, leader of the Peasantry Rebellion, what are your final words?”

I had rehearsed my words, pacing back and forth in my dreary and dirty cell as I awaited my hanging date. Long speeches, words to paint my glory and memory in the minds of those who would be watching, of the fellow peasantry and my fellow compatriots who would tell my story long after I drew my last breath. But speeches and flowery words never were my strength, and finally I had settled on simplicity—brevity would carry me in memory, and plus I did not think they’d let me prattle on for longer than a minute anyway. It’d be rather embarrassing to be cut off mid-word. 

I took a deep breath, feeling the rope tightening as the executioner’s jittery hands teased me with the oncoming pulling as it was tied and latched into place and I stared across the gathered people of the kingdom. Now or never. 

“Today you see not the death of a leader, but the death of a rebel, and of a countryman. I stand here no different from those who witness me beyond action and conviction,” it was silent as I spoke, and my eyes naturally drifted upwards to take in the Queen and her veil once more. To my surprise, there was another veiled woman sitting beside her, my eyes taking in her and the tiara on her head and piecing together what would be the princess, whispering into her mother’s ear. My two failed marks, two heads who I sought and yet failed to have roll at my feet. But now was no time for bitterness—now was the time for final goodbyes.

“And to the noble scum who hang me today, all I say is this: I am one rebel who draws her last breath today, but the air from my lungs shall awaken the hearts and fill the lungs of hundreds more. For revolutions die not upon the hanging of the leader, but of their failure to light the souls of the oppressed aflame—and I shall count their gnashing of teeth as I hang, and go unto the heavens to bite my teeth into the world.” 

    From the crowds came cries of rage, of anger and injustice—sweet, sweet cries of revolution that sang in my ears amongst the buzz as the rope grew tighter and tighter. Time slowed as I smiled in triumph, my vision narrowing as I raised my head to look up at the royal balcony only to be met with the cold, amused smile of the Queen and the eyes of the Princess who, against all traditions, had raised her own veil so her eyes would meet my own. 

Brown met royal blue, and unease filled my stomach as I realized they were full of triumph and satisfaction, trailing down to watch a stream of guards approaching the hanging platform, as the door beneath my feet fell open and my body plummeted into the dark below. Time stretched as I jerked and swung, my vision fading out just as the last image of the executioner’s ax severing the rope holding me aloft burned into my vision, my body crumpling on the stone pathway and my head colliding and knocking me out cold before I could realize that, with the cruelest irony, my life had been spared.

I awoke as if from a nightmare, shooting up from the hard and dirty mattress of my cell to grasp at my neck and cough. My throat ached and burned with irritation like lava, my weary eyes darting around the confines of the small barred room as I tried to piece together how I had ended up here. I was certain that I had hung, had given my final words and drawn my final breath. And yet the moist and dreary cell met me, and the sense of unease that had started upon my final stage was now sinking into the pits of my stomach. 

I was in only my underclothes, chains and shackles wrapped around my ankles and wrists as my shaking hands touched and rubbed against the iron. My legs felt just as weak and shaky as I moved to stand upon them, moving slowly forward towards the iron barring me from the world until the chains snapped tight and refused to let me move any further forward. The bars stood unmoving, just out of reach from my rough and dirty hands, and after a moment of straining I found myself trudging backwards to collapse back into the bed. 

The passing of time was difficult to tell from the cell, each second lengthened by exhaustion and thirst. My eyes grew heavy as I counted, and yet even the slightest whisper of movement from outside of my cell would have me sitting up awake in expectation of what was to come. Finally, footsteps made their way closer and closer until they stopped outside my cell—two guards, holding spears and keys and further chains of iron. 

“Cyrille Abel—you have been summoned to be presented to Her Royal Majesty. You will come willingly, or find yourself under the mercy of our Royal Executioner in the interrogation chambers,” one of the men announced, voice gruff and eyes cold, matching white facial hair and wrinkled skin. The other said nothing, but looked amused with a small smile on his much younger face, as if daring me to refuse, daring me to fight so he may get the joy of putting his hands upon me. I knew better than to give men like that the chance. 

I said nothing but stood to my feet. The iron bars were unlocked, the door swung open and the two approached. The gruff one stood in front of me, while the amused one knelt down to unchain my ankles. A toothy smirk broke out across my lips, and after a few swishes in an already-dry mouth, I welled up enough saliva to spit down onto his hand as it unlocked the cuff around my foot. 

The amusement died, replaced by anger as a wretched curse of “you rotten bitch!” was spat at me in return, a hand going back towards the spear on the ground before the guard before me raised a hand, stopping all movement. 

“You will not harm her, Mullin. Her Royal Highness demanded her to be untouched, if she is to come willingly.” 

The guard by my foot—Mullin, it seemed to be—grit his teeth and met my eyes with restrained fury. My own surprise at my supposed safety hid itself behind a bloody grin, the effort of smiling causing chapped lips to crack and blood to well up to the surface and drip down my chin as I stared down at him in victory. Mullin simply scoffed, ripping the last cuff from inflamed flesh before standing once more, stalking off to the door as the man before me hooked the new chains to my wrists, my arms and hands weighed down by the heavy metal that dragged on the floor and linked like a leash of a dog to the chains in his hands. 

“Any attempt of resistance will result in immediate punishment, with authority granted to me as Royal Officer of Her Majesty’s Guard. Do you have any questions?” 

His eyes were gray, and just as cold when up close as they were from behind the iron. My stubborn silence and bleeding lips drew no sign of warmth from him nor recognition, and after a moment he simply nodded and began to pull on my chains, with a simple command of “Then follow and try nothing.” 

Despite his old age, he moved faster than I expected and the first tug of the chains nearly sent me falling forward before I managed to stumble back into balance. When I raised my head—perhaps to cuss, or more likely just to make sure I didn’t go face-first into the iron bars of the cell—I was met with the return of Mullin’s sickening grin as he held the cell door open for me to waltz through. I grit my teeth and hardened my resolve, stepping forward quickly as the cell slammed close behind me and I kept up with the two’s brisk walking through the corridors ahead. 

  I passed by cells holding others, wasting away for much longer than I had. None met my eyes as I was corralled and pulled forward, all too broken to look up from their hovels in corners and against walls. Broken men and women—but none who had been fellow rebels with me, for I had seen every single hanging and execution and knew that no rebel was ever spared a rope or guillotine. What that meant for my own fate I did not know. 

Eventually I was pulled up spiraling stairs, shoved through more locked doors until finally the floor changed from cold stone to wood against my bare feet, the walls taking on the polish and shine of many mirrors. The smell of orange blossom and many other perfumes buffeted my nose as I was led through the grand halls of what I knew, by its finery and its offensive opulence, to be the Royal Palace of Versailles. The light of a mid-day sun blinded my eyes for a moment, causing me to pause and be further pulled forward as I shielded my eyes to take in my surroundings. 

The halls were empty sans servants bustling back and forth with platters of half-eaten food, flutes of bubbling champagne and plates of pastries—more food than I had seen in my lifetime, enough to feed families I had seen starve for weeks. They stared at me as I was dragged past them, whispers hidden behind hands and eyes filled with curiosity. Any attempts I made to meet eyes with them were quickly dashed as the tugging from the guards became more forceful and insistent. We approached two grand doors, music pouring out like water between the cracks with the sound of raucous laughter and gossip. Without a second afforded to prepare myself, Mullin knocked on the door and then stepped aside as they were thrown aside.

Behind them was a grand ballroom full of gold and finery, where even the baseboards were studded with jewels that could buy a man bread for a year, where Lords and Ladies of fine dress and noble stature turned to stare at me and the guard in the doorway. A man—the same who had read my execution, I realized, and who read the scroll in his hands with the same level of seriousness and gravity—stepped forward as they parted like a red sea and the beautiful music halted, leaving the air to still.

“Announcing Cyrille Abel, Leader of the Rebellion and Prisoner of Her Royal Majesty, Queen  Dorothée of the Janvier, Queen and Divine Ruler of France!” 

The whispers returned twofold, my eyes following the cleared path to take in the Queen sitting regally on her throne. Her dress was black, black veil still over her eyes and royal crown delicately placed on her head, yet red-painted lips smiled at me from across the room like a devil’s. Beside her, sitting on a lower throne that was yet equally decorated in finery, sat the woman I knew to be the princess, her own veil still lowered over her eyes. The black did not sully my memory of royal blue, the very eyes that smiled at me in triumph as I hung. 

I was marched forward, a spear now dug into my back ceremoniously as Mullin pushed from behind and the Officer yanked forward, before forcing me to my knees before the Queen and Princess, a loud command of “Kneel in respect to your Royal Queen and Princess, traitor” joining the heel of a boot pressed into my back to force my head down. My attempts to struggle were squashed by the position, and my own exhaustion and weakness, and the blood from my lips dripped onto the gilded floors of the ballroom.

“You may raise your head,” finally came the call, after several breaths and several drops of crimson stained onto the gold beneath me. A gloved hand dug itself into the curls of my knotted hair, pulling my head back and up to bare my neck and face the Queen. She was reclined into her chair, head tilted and red lips smiling cruelly. 

“A rat, I see, kneeling on my ballroom floor, interrupting the gala held in honor of my late husband? How shameless of her,” The Queen chuckled, “and yet she has caught the attention of all of France. Stirring up trouble here and there, greedy and conniving, causing trouble and disrespecting the natural, God-defined order of things.” 

For a moment I regretted spitting at Mullin before, as my mouth was now too dry to well up enough to spit again in the face of what was ‘god-defined’. Instead I sat silent, brows furrowed and rage boiling as the Queen chuckled, the only sound that could be heard in the hushed silence of the gala. 

“And yet such a rat has…caught mine and my daughters' attention, and after much consideration, I believe that a more fitting honor can be awarded to one who seeks to entertain us so,” the Queen continued, standing to her feet with the royal scepter in hand. Her rising led to the bowing of every head in the room, sans my own as I glared down at her towering figure. However she did not approach, instead nodding her head to the Princess beside her, who stood to match her and strode forward to stand above me.

The many layers of her dress pressed against my front, ruffles and expensive fabric pressing against my dirty and bloody front without trepidation as pale, dainty fingers cupped my chin and forced my attention up past the black veil. Royal blue eyes and red-painted lips met me, interest and want brazenly on display as perfectly trimmed and painted nails dug into my lips and split my mouth to show gritted teeth. Blood-red lips, a color so similar to the blood dripping down my chin, curled up in cruel joy.

“Such pretty teeth, rebel. No wonder you seek to grip the world with them,” the Princess whispered, before reaching her hand to the side to be given her own scepter—silver, with a sharpened tip and blue sapphire that sparkled like her eyes. The sharpened tip pressed into my neck, trailing along my collar bones to tap both my shoulders in an arc, one I recognized as a sign of appointment as dread finally overtake the rage in my stomach and I realized what awaited me.  

“Cyrille Abel, you have slain my father and sown doubt into the kingdom of the divine right to my family’s rule. You have conspired to kill and eliminate the crown, and sought to bring wealth and power to the peasantry,” the Princess smirked, digging her scepter deeper into my skin as I knelt near-bare at her feet. Behind her approached a servant with a cushion, on it a porcelain mask with gilded lock and key attached to the back. With it sat a royal blue cap’n’bells, 3 golden bells tinkling in the air like mockery. 

“And yet your efforts bear fruitless, and your rebellion quashed—your attempt at martyrdom for your cause is laughable, and thus your real talents have been royally recognized;” the mask was picked up from the cushion, delicately held in the hands of what had to be the Devil as she opened the lock and nodded for the Officer to brace my head still so that I could not fight or run as the mask was placed over my skull. 

 “Cyrille Abel, you are to be given the title and position of Royal Jester of the Court, to serve as a reminder to the peasantry of the reality of their convictions.” The clicking of the lock sliding into place at the back of my head tolled like my death bell, as the Lords and Ladies of the gala who surrounded us erupted back into whispers and discussion at the news, and finally I well up enough for one final act of defiance. 

I jerked my head to snatch the dainty, pale hand beneath my jaws and bit down—blood staining the skin of the first person to touch me without gloves since my imprisonment—and gasps rising in response. And yet the Princess did not even flinch, a pleasured shudder barely perceptible as her eyes traced along my teeth and she leaned down to whisper in my ear.

“I think you’ll find that I’m rather a fan of misbehavior, Jester,” she chuckled, and with her proximity I could only focus on the overwhelming scent of roses before the butt of a spear connected with the back of my head, forcing me to let go of her hand and causing my vision to go black.
